ON THE PROWL: Roberto Cavalli is making his mark in Japan, where the designer has had a limited retail presence until now. On Thursday, Cavalli opened his first store in Tokyo, a 346 square-foot shop-in-shop in Takashimaya in Shinjuku selling the designer’s full range of apparel and accessories for women and select accessories for men. To celebrate the opening, Cavalli has designed some limited-edition items exclusive to the store including a silver tote bag and wallet in Cavalli’s signature animal print. Earlier this year, Cavalli opened a similar shop-in-shop in the Takashimaya in Nagoya. Word has it that the company is also planning to open a Tokyo flagship at some point in the near future.
