OPENING ITS DOORS: LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton said Monday it would reprise and expand its Journées Particulières initiative this summer, allowing the public to visit the workshops that turn out its leather goods, couture dresses, fine wines and high-end watches.
Spearheaded by luxury scion Antoine Arnault, a director at LVMH and chief executive officer at Berluti, the event attracted more than 100,000 visitors when it made its debut in the fall of 2011 with 25 attractions.

The next installment, scheduled for June 15 and 16, is to involve more than 40 sites, including Christian Dior’s couture salons in Paris, Vuitton’s leather goods facility in Asnières, France, and a production site for Guerlain beauty products in Orphin, France.
While concentrated in France, the operation extends to LVMH properties in Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Poland and the U.K.
LVMH said a dedicated Web site at lesjourneesparticulieres.com is to go live on April 16 detailing the event’s various components and taking reservations.
