Daniel Lawler to Helm Footwear at Oscar de la Renta

As vice president of design, footwear, he will work closely with the designer to establish the design direction for the category.

OSCAR’S SHOE-IN: Oscar de la Renta has signed Daniel Lawler in the new role of vice president of design, footwear, for his company. As part of the firm’s plan to bolster the category, Lawler will work closely with de la Renta to establish the design direction for footwear. Before joining the company, he worked at Balmain for three years, first under Christophe Decarnin and then Olivier Rousteing. Prior to that, the London College of Fashion grad served as a designer at Jimmy Choo for four years under Sandra Choi and Tamara Mellon. His résumé also includes a run at Christian Dior in Paris under John Galliano.

After Alexia Aubert exited the company more than a year ago, de la Renta and his design team handled footwear.
