MOHR HUMAN: Berlin’s seasonal scandal monger Patrick Mohr juxtaposed members of marginalized or disadvantaged groups with regular models in his off-site Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin presentation “Human” on Wednesday.
Bobby Brederlow, who has Down’s syndrome; transgender Balian Buschbaum; wheelchair-bound Nina Wortmann, and male and female body builders joined top models Katrin Thormann and Franzi Mueller.
“We are all equal, no matter how different we may seem at first. We all have the same essential qualities whether handicapped or non-handicapped,” said the designer.
His principle of inclusion also involved unibrows, whiskers and painted triangles on faces.
“I used faceless beings to project the expression of our species. With mind and soul, we are all more than a face,” he declared.
Of all his conceptual pieces, which included canvas gowns with never-ending trains extending front or back, the one most likely to make it onto the streets is his “eyes only” T-shirt with two peepers peering out.
