Peaches Geldof’s Death Ruled Heroin Overdose

Coroner’s statement follows toxicology results in May.

FINAL WORD: A British coroner has confirmed that Peaches Geldof died of a heroin overdose. According to the coroner’s office, the model, writer and television presenter had been a heroin addict and was using methadone for two and a half years before her death earlier this year. She did not intend to take her life, according to the ruling.

The investigation followed a toxicology report in May showing Geldof had heroin in her system at the time of death. Geldof died on April 7 at age 25 at her home in Kent. She was married to musician Thomas Cohen, had two sons, Astala and Phaedra.
