INDOMITABLE ART: Flatiron shoppers may soon be stopped in their tracks by Peter Regli’s “Snow Monsters,” 12 life-size marble snowmen figures that will go up Sunday in the Flatiron Plaza appear to be at various stages of melting. Presented by Dominique Lévy’s gallery in conjunction with the New York City Department of Transportation Art Program, the installation will be on view through March 13. Set opposite the iconic Flatiron Building on 23rd Street “in the wrong place” as Regli puts it, his work is meant to interrupt commuters’ routines and provide a humorous diversion within the wintry New York landscape.

Snow Monsters is an extension of the artist’s “Reality Hacking” series and will mark his first large-scale sculptural installation in New York City.
