Peter Som Cancels Fall Women’s Show

He had intended to show on Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. at Milk Studios.

SOM CANCELS SHOW: Speaking of New York Fashion Week, Peter Som has cancelled the fall runway show for his designer collection. He had intended to show on Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. at the Milk Studios.

“Peter decided this was the best decision for this season. There will be a fall-winter 2013 collection, but the format of how it will be presented has not yet been confirmed,” said a Som spokeswoman.

Known for his eclectic spirit and signature bold prints, Som began showing his designer collection on the runway in 2001.

Som previously consulted with Tommy Hilfiger’s women’s runway collection and accessories for five seasons, but gave up that gig last July. At the time, Som said he wanted to focus on his own business and other opportunities. Earlier, he was creative director of women’s wear for Bill Blass from 2007 to 2008.
