PICKING A PATH FOR SMCP: KKR is looking to the future at SMCP, parent to the Sandro, Maje and Claudie Pierlot fashion chains. A spokesman for the private equity giant, which bought two-thirds of the business in 2013, confirmed that it was evaluating “strategic options” with an eye toward supporting the “future growth and development of the company.”

“No formal decision has been made as of today regarding the preferred option or the timing,” the spokesman said Thursday. “SMCP is performing extremely well with net sales of 585 million euros [or $654 million at average exchange] as of June 2015, notably thanks to the attractiveness of its brands. The group accelerated its international expansion with the support of KKR and is now operating 1,039 stores in 34 countries.”
