Dior Taps DJ Richie Hawtin for Guggenheim Gala

The DJ, a personal favorite of Raf Simons, will revive Plastikman, one of his most popular aliases in the Nineties, for the two-night event.

PLASTIK FANTASTIC: As the main sponsor of this year’s Guggenheim International Gala, Dior is charged with providing the entertainment. DJ Richie Hawtin, aka Plastikman, will do the honors. Known for his minimal techno style and influence on Detroit’s early Nineties techno scene, Hawtin is a personal favorite of Raf Simons. Plastikman was one of Hawtin’s most popular aliases in the Nineties. He is also known for his imprints Plus8 and Minus.

“I listen to Richie Hawtin’s music like others listen to classic music,” said Simons. “As Plastikman it is also an amazing live experience so I am extremely grateful that he accepted to bring it back for that evening.”
