A TOUCH OF GOLD: Pomellato is lending a hand to art. The Italian fine jewelry company will finance the restoration of the “Sala degli Uomini Illustri” (“The Room of Illustrious Men”) inside Venice’s historical Caffè Florian in Piazza San Marco. The room, decorated by painter Giulio Carlini in 1872, displays the portraits of several prominent figures including Marco Polo, artists Tiziano and Palladio and playwright Carlo Goldoni.

Pomellato will take care of the paintings’ golden frames, while UBS Italia will handle the restoration of the portraits and textile company Rubelli will provide custom-made velvet to decorate the room.
