PRADA IN PALERMO: Prada’s first Sicilian store opened last week on Via della Libertà, in the heart of Palermo. Architect Roberto Baciocchi, a frequent Prada Group collaborator, devised the new boutique, which is about 2,070 square feet. Spread across three floors in a frescoed 19th-century building near the neoclassical Teatro Politeama, the store features marble floors with black-and-white checks at the entrance and walls enveloped in pale green toile. Prada has been busily expanding this year: in the first nine months, the group opened 51 stores, and by the end of November the total retail network included 370 direct points of sale.
