Prada and Luxottica have introduced their latest flagship tie-up to retailer floors. The ‘Mod’ collection includes graphic glasses, often of wire, geometric frames. Optical designs are priced at $350 while sunwear is $430. Both were introduced to retailers last week.

Prada, which in April reported a 26.6 percent drop in profits in the 12 months ending Jan. 31, would greatly benefit from a successful sunglass collection – particularly if Mod can replicate the same success as its scrolling ‘Baroque’ motif line. Luxottica, by contrast, reported a 2.5 percent growth in sales in the first quarter of the year

To promote the collection, the Italian label has created a digital film campaign, featuring model Vanessa Moody – exclusive to WWD.
