Prada’s Luna Rossa Ties With Cathay Pacific

The Hong Kong company has been named the official carrier for the launch of its AC 72 catamaran.

TAKING THE PLANE: Prada’s Luna Rossa Challenge 2013 has named Cathay Pacific official carrier for the launch of its AC 72 catamaran, to be used at the 34th edition of next year’s America’s Cup. The Luna Rossa team is currently in Auckland, New Zealand, putting the finishing touches on the 72-foot catamaran for its launch on Oct. 26. Guests and Prada management will all travel to Auckland from Milan and Rome this week on Cathay Pacific, racking up plenty of airtime with the Hong Kong company.

Earlier this month, Prada ceo Patrizio Bertelli said Luna Rossa’s participation in the America’s Cup was an active way for Italy to demonstrate its resilience.
