#STEPONIT: Jewelry designers Danielle Snyder and Jodie Snyder Morel are adding shoes to the Dannijo brand. The collection, due out for spring, also marks the sisters’ first project working with a licensee — specifically, Eric Rutberg of Transparent Footwear Inc., who has previously worked on footwear for L.A.M.B. and Badgley Mischka. “Because shoes is a very different category than handbags and jewelry, we wanted to partner with an expert with significant experience in the shoe industry,” said Snyder.
The debut collection takes inspiration from the sisters’ travels, including a recent trip to Paris. Materials include snake, lambskin and leather. In keeping with the brand’s jewelry roots, embellishment plays a major part in the designs. Jeweled elements include chain detailing, beading and Swarovski crystal.

The initial offering will cover 24 styles, including sandals and booties, with prices starting at $250. The entire collection will go to market this week at the Fashion Footwear Association of New York, or FFANY, trade show.
The sisters launched their jewelry line more than six years ago, adding bags at the end of last year. “We want to dress our woman head to toe, and shoes are a natural next step,” said Snyder.
