Louis Vuitton Train on the Move

The fashion house recently had The Selby’s Todd Selby travel from Paris to Shanghai to document the transport of the set.

QUITE A JOURNEY: The train pulling into the venue at Louis Vuitton’s spring show in March clearly set a tone at the luxury house. Vuitton recently had The Selby’s Todd Selby travel by train from Paris to Shanghai and document the experience, from places the photographer and director saw to people he encountered along the way. The videos, photos and illustrations launched on on Friday, and Vuitton will continue to unveil each step of the 12-day journey every day through July 19 — in time for the grand opening celebration of the first Louis Vuitton Maison store in China at Plaza 66 in Shanghai.

Selby, who won’t be there for the opening, said the experience taught him plenty. “On such a long train trip you start to forget about schedules and making plans,” he said. “You just sit and look out the window and enjoy the ride.”
