ZOE IS A GO: LF USA execs have been so impressed by the initial success of Rachel Zoe’s contemporary line that they are actively pursuing other opportunities in that sector. The label should be in more than 400 doors internationally by the end of the year, according to Rick Darling.
After Zoe’s first runway show Saturday, he said of the collection,”It’s not crazy but it’s what people want. We have been a bit surprised by how quickly it has taken. We are well ahead of our expectations,” though he declined to quantify that.
“This part of the market is an important step for us and we will be doing more in it with existing companies and developing new brands,” he said. (Darling declined to identify any of the candidates.)
Robin Marino, the creative force behind Zoe’s new jewelry, cold weather accessories and bags, caught the show. LF USA’s Suzanne Karkus said afterwards that Zoe et al “plan to drink a lot of Champagne tonight.”
