RAIN AND SHINE: Drenching rain and thunderous black clouds did not deter San Francisco’s stylish diamond connoisseurs from attending the opening of the new Graff boutique on Friday night. Guests included Lynne Benioff, OJ Shansby, Joy Bianchi, Alex Chases, Marcy Carmack, Damion Matthews, Keylee Sanders and Yurie Pascarella, who all congratulated company founder Laurence Graff. The event also honored the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
Later in the evening, clients and friends of Graff decamped to hushed Quince restaurant in Jackson Square, where roasted rack of venison, suckling pig with quince mostarda and risotto with wild nettles were on the menu. Marissa Mayer noted that unlike many Silicon Valley types, she was not a vegetarian. “My husband is a vegetarian, though,” the Google executive noted. She was heading later in the evening to Chicago for a wedding. “I’ll sleep on the plane,” said Mayer, adept at travel planning.
