The Puig fashion executive is to be decorated as an Officer of the National Order of Merit.

CALL TO ORDER: Ralph Toledano, president of Puig’s fashion division, is to be decorated in France as an Officer of the National Order of Merit, WWD has learned.

According to Thursday’s Journal Officiel, the ministry of culture and communications is recognizing Toledano for 41 years of service.

He joins a list of notable French and international recipients of the order, which include the likes of actor Jean-Paul Belmondo, explorer Jacques Cousteau and retired U.S. general Wesley Clark.

Toledano, who has also helmed the Chloé, Karl Lagerfeld and Guy Laroche fashion houses, is also a chevalier in the Legion of Honor, awarded in 2003. Puig’s fashion division comprises Carolina Herrera, Jean Paul Gaultier, Nina Ricci and Paco Rabanne.
