NEW HEIGHTS: For Wednesday’s opening celebration of the Revere Hotel Boston Common, models/climbers will scale down the exterior of the 24-story building in what is being billed as the first vertical fashion show at a hotel. Three riggers with 90-plus years of experience will be stationed on the roof as the climbers rappel down the facade face-first as if they were walking. The Boston Rock Gym-provided talent will be showing off the hotel staffers’ new uniforms, which were designed with input from students at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Coinciding with the 237-year anniversary of Paul Revere’s famous pre Revolutionary War ride, the show will have a British-Are-Coming aspect. A few models will wear looks from U.K.-based designer Ted Baker, who has a boutique nearby on Newbury Street. The invite-only event gets underway at 5:45 p.m. and there will also be a traditional runway show featuring professional models and hotel employees.
