RUSSIAN DOLL: An eclectic bunch piled into the Roger Vivier store on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré Monday evening to celebrate the brand’s collaboration with Russian social media and fashion fixture Miroslava Duma, who features in visuals for its spring “Vivier’s Codes” collection. Guests at the boutique, decked out like a painting by Henri Rousseau for the occasion, included Chinese video artist Yi Zhou, the artist Balthus’ widow Setsuko Klossowska de Rola, Fifi Chachnil, Stella Tennant and Mélonie Foster Hennessy.
“We’re a house making shoes, and when we do a decoration it’s Tarzanlike, and Tarzan is the person on earth who doesn’t wear shoes,” said brand ambassador Inès de la Fressange of the verdant set. “This is to make you understand that this house is very paradoxical.”

As Catherine Deneuve made her entrance, Duma handed over her phone to be snapped with the French film star. “I’m a great fan of hers,” she explained afterward.
Despite being a familiar face in the front rows and street-style snaps, the diminutive Duma, who is founder of fashion Web site Buro247 and digital media director for department store Tsum, had never modeled before shooting the campaign with photographer Olivia Bee.
“It was really strange for me, but thanks to the extremely professional, fun team, I enjoyed the process,” she said. “Otherwise, it’s not my thing.”
Deneuve said she is heading Stateside on Wednesday to promote Emmanuelle Bercot’s “On My Way,” which hits U.S. theaters next week. She has three more movies coming out shortly: Pierre Salvadori’s “Dans la cour,” Benoît Jacquot’s “Trois coeurs” and André Téchiné’s “L’Homme que l’on aimait trop,” in which she stars with Guillaume Canet.
Deneuve, who has a long history with the Roger Vivier brand since she wore its designs in the 1967 movie “Belle de Jour,” will get back to what she loves — acting — later in the year. “I will shoot another movie with Emmanuelle Bercot. I play a family judge.”
Zhou, meanwhile, said she was in Paris shooting a Chinese television documentary about Parisian fashion, architecture and lifestyle. “I think it’s interesting to show young people in China things linking architecture with lifestyle and fashion, not just simply to show them a dress,” she said.
