SOMETHING FRENCH: Roger Vivier is forging ahead with its retail expansion and gearing up to unveil its first store in Mainland China. The new boutique, which is due to open in mid September, will be located in Shanghai’s Plaza 66. The 3,767-square-foot unit will sell the Parisian brand’s footwear, bags, small leather goods, jewellery, sunglasses as well as a range of limited-edition pieces. Pale pink walls and quintessentially French furnishings like a Louis XV chest of drawers, vintage lamps and a huge sculpted mirror will feature prominently in the décor. “Not only a boutique and creative environment, this is a real house with its entrance and unique interior design capturing the codes of elegance à la française and evoking an eclectic artistry – one of the cornerstones of Roger Vivier’s spirit,” the company said.
