SYDNEY — Putting the royal into Sydney’s Royal Easter Show, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW’s annual fair at Olympic Park on Good Friday morning.
Giving her first nod of the tour to an Australian designer, the Duchess wore Zimmermann’s white short-sleeved broderie anglaise ‘Roamer’ dress from the upcoming Summer Swim 2014 collection, teamed with Stuart Weitzman’s ‘Minx’ cork wedges with braided tan leather straps.
Among other show activities, the royal duo watched sheep shearing and wool handling demonstrations and were later due to head back to Sydney to Manly Beach for a visit to the Bear Cottage children’s palliative care hospice and to watch a surf carnival staged by Surf Life Saving NSW.
On Thursday the couple visited the Blue Mountains just outside of Sydney to tour areas devastated by the October 2013 bushfires, the state’s worst bushfires in half a century. Also on the royal itinerary: visiting Katoomba’s famous ‘Three Sisters’ rock formation and planting a tree with the Winmalee chapter of the Girl Guides. The Duchess wore Diane von Furstenberg’s blue and white Ikat print ‘Patrice’ wrap dress, paired with Stuart Weitzman’s navy ‘Corkswoon’ wedges.
