SYDNEY — The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge finished their tour of New Zealand’s south island in Christchurch on Monday, paying their respects to the 185 people who perished in the city’s devastating 2011 earthquake.
Afterwards they headed to Hagley Oval for some batting practice with young cricket hopefuls, then to the Botanic Gardens and the Wigram Air Force Museum.
The Duchess wore a poppy red pencil skirt suit with a peplum jacket detail and black buttons by Italian label Luisa Spagnoli, teamed with a black belt and pumps.
On Saturday in Hamilton, to open the National Cycling Centre and visit the Rainbow Place children’s hospice, Kate wore Erdem’s Kelly green wool crepe coat and a green and white ‘Budding Heart’ silk tea dress from Suzannah Crabb, with black suede Episode pumps and Mulberry’s matching ‘Bayswater’ clutch.
For a Palm Sunday service at St Paul’s Cathedral in Dunedin, she wore a teal double wool crepe dress by London-based Kiwi Emilia Wickstead, a matching hat by British milliner Jane Taylor, with dark grey pumps and clutch and The Queen’s diamond and platinum fern brooch that the Duchess wore upon her arrival on Monday 7th April.
Dressing down for a ‘Rippa Rugby’ match with schoolchildren, she later changed into skinny jeans, Mint Velvet sneakers and a cream Jonathan Saunders sweater — and then again into a blue and white gingham shirt, Zara blazer and Stuart Weitzman wedges for a wine tasting at Queenstown’s Amisfield winery.
The royal couple departs for Sydney on Wednesday.
