WRITING ON THE WALL: RxArt, the nonprofit that seeks to liven up hospitals by connecting them with contemporary artists, held its annual silent auction/party at the High Line Stages in Chelsea on Thursday night. The bash, which this year was sponsored by Chanel Beauté, was co-hosted by Jen Brill, Poppy Delevingne, Leigh Lezark, Caroline Sieber and Vanessa Traina, and drew the sort of crowd a party hosted by that group is supposed to. Guests including Hannah Bronfman, Terry Richardson, Max Snow, Ally Hilfiger and Gucci Westman and David Neville viewed the artwork up for auction. A few partygoers indulged their inner 4-year-old, drawing on a wall in the space’s back room with custom Chanel markers, a nod to RxArt’s fundraising coloring book. At one point in the evening, board member Bill Powers was in the midst of a small bidding war between himself, Aaron Young and Agnes Gund for one of the original works in the book by David Hammons that hung elsewhere in the room.
“I’m sure it’s going to find a good home,” Powers said with a laugh. “I mean, I like it because it’s right from the RxArt coloring book, but I’m not really looking to go toe to toe with anybody here. It’s just all for a good cause.”
