Ryan Seacrest is diligent about always being prepared, whether it’s for his daily drive-time radio show, his Rockin’ New Year’s Eve and American Idol hosting duties, or any of the productions that he attaches his name to. So in preparation for his late-night show for NBC that will air live from Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro during the upcoming Summer Olympic Games, Seacrest teamed with Condé Nast Traveler editor Pilar Guzman to host a group of editors at the Casa Brazilian restaurant that served double duty — it also promoted the launch of his men’s sportswear capsule, Distinction Rio, that made its debut at Macy’s this week.
“Welcome to Brazilian Idol, I’m your host,” he said with a laugh at the start of the authentic Brazilian meal. He said he was celebrating the “simple summer capsule,” and looking for inspiration for the three weeks he will be spending in Rio.
Glancing at the fried cheese balls and rich cream-based meat dishes, Seacrest said that if he ate like this everyday, “I won’t fit into any of our clothes.”
That’s a good thing since he admitted that he “had to change my outfit six times before I came to see you.”
The day before, he had made a personal appearance at Macy’s to promote the Rio line, and posed with a group of Brazilian dancers — more inspiration for his upcoming trip. And judging by these events, Seacrest should fit in just fine.
