MODERN MOVEMENT: Saint Laurent has officially opened the doors to its redesigned and expanded space in San Francisco’s Union Square.
The boutique, which first opened in 2013 with only men’s at 1,400 square feet, now totals 2,400 square feet to include the women’s collection. The floor space of the boutique at 110 Geary Street is now roughly divided between men’s and women’s.
The design of the store fits the same footprint of the brand’s other boutiques that have been redesigned with a new concept created by Hedi Slimane.
The company describes the new design as 21st century Art Deco, with the infusion of decorative elements that include nickel-plated brass hangbars, mirrors and leather upholstery.
There are currently 23 Saint Laurent stores in the U.S., of which 16 are now outfitted with the new design concept. The company declined, through a spokesperson, to comment on future store renovation plans.
