Claudia Schiffer Launching Eyewear With Rodenstock

The collection, which will launch next year, will feature sunglasses and optical frames for women.

SCHIFFER’S SHADES: Claudia Schiffer is entering new fashion territory with an eyewear partnership with Rodenstock Group. The collection, which will launch next year, will feature sunglasses and optical frames for women.

Rodenstock, which licenses eyewear for brands such as Porsche Design, Alfred Dunhill, Baldessarini and Mercedes-Benz, said Schiffer’s line will feature eight optical styles and seven sunglass styles available in four colorways. Each frame will be available in two sizes, and will be made of acetate or a mix of acetate and metal.

“Sunglasses are an essential part of my wardrobe. After years of wearing so many styles, I wanted to create a collection of great frames where the quality of the lens is equally as important as the style,” Schiffer told WWD. “I grew up with Rodenstock being the pinnacle of quality in sunglasses and lenses. They are the perfect partner, and I can’t wait for the world to see why I chose them.”

The collection takes inspiration from the Seventies and will make its debut at the Opti international trade fair in Munich in January. Following its German unveiling, the collection will be available globally.
