Scotch & Soda Expanding in Asia

The brand is opening two stores in Hong Kong and planning to roll out more stores across Greater China in partnership with ImagineX.

BRANCHING OUT: Scotch & Soda is embarking on an Asian expansion drive with distribution partner ImagineX Group. The Amsterdam-based brand is preparing to open two stores in Hong Kong. This month the label will open a store in Harbor City, Kowloon. Come October, it will also have a store at IFC in Central. ImagineX said its five-year partnership with the brand will entail a “robust” roll-out across Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Mainland China with its first standalone store in Mainland China due to open later this year.

Lane Crawford, which like ImagineX is part of the Lane Crawford Joyce Group, introduced Scotch & Soda to Hong Kong and China in 2008 and 2009 respectively. ImagineX said Scotch & Soda is already one of the best performing contemporary brands in Lane Crawford stores. “The booming middle class with rising incomes are finding ways to personalize their own style, while also appreciating the details and quality of the brands they purchase,” said Thomson Cheng, ImagineX’s managing director.
