Second Class of Design Entrepreneurs NYC Kicks Off

With a gift from the G-III Apparel Group, the NYCEDC and the Fashion Institute of Technology have set forth the program's next installment.

NYCEDC RECEIVES G-III GIFT: With a matching gift from the G-III Apparel Group, the New York City Economic Development Corporation and the Fashion Institute of Technology have set forth the second class of Design Entrepreneurs NYC. Thirty-five up-and-comers have been chosen for this free, intensive program that centers on learning how to run a successful label. The program officially got going Thursday night with a kickoff event at G-III‘s Seventh Avenue offices. The actual schooling, so to speak, will take place this summer at FIT where faculty and industry professionals will give the lowdown on marketing, operations, and financial management.

Matching NYCEDC’s financial contribution, G-III’s gift will be used, in part, to award funding to two participants, and to provide financial workshops, networking opportunities, and business-related informational events for both past and current program participants.
