Web Site to Launch Sale of Vintage Valentino Haute Couture sale will feature about 30 pieces from 1960 to 1980.

SEEING RED: Those who won’t see Valentino being honored at the Couture Council luncheon Wednesday can get their Val fix anyway. On that same day,, which is also a sponsor of the luncheon, will launch a sale of vintage Valentino Haute Couture. The collection, presented by Rare Vintage owner Juliana Cairone, features about 30 pieces from 1960 to 1980, including a leopard organza dress with an embroidered bodice featuring a Japenese Ukiyo-e-inspired theme, a bumblebee Lesage-embroidered jacket, and, of course, the ubiquitous red gown. It’s not only fashion either. There are even some pieces from a home collection Valentino designed in the Seventies.
