AT YOUR SERVICE: Selfridges has launched a personal shopping service for men in London. Nestled on the first floor in the Oxford Street store, the 1,291-square-foot unit includes three suites, a reception area and a floor-to ceiling library. Designed by Alex Cochrane, the space was designed with a New York style loft aesthetic with art hung on the walls by artists including Damien Hirst. This men’s bespoke service is headed by Joe Ottaway and shoppers can meet with a personal shopper to purchase apparel, goods, gifts, accessories and grooming products.
“Our men’s wear business expanded at a rate which we could never have predicted a few years ago,” said Joe Ottoway. “There’s a strong appetite amongst our male clients to experience a service that’s entirely bespoke — we inherently understand how personal the experience of shopping is, which is something that informs everything we do. Something we take huge pride in is our honest and unaffected approach to style advice. The beauty of implementing such a unique proposition in a store like Selfridges is the flexibility afforded but the breadth of offer — we work with guys looking for the latest pieces from APC and Moschino to men looking for a bespoke Tom Ford suit.”
