SEND ME A LETTER: Yet another missive has been added to growing stack of correspondence regarding the fashion week calendar. After a friendly meeting with Diane von Furstenberg in Milan on Thursday, Camera Nazionale della Moda president Mario Boselli sent journalists a letter Friday in which he reiterated his claims that there was no agreement regarding show dates beyond this year. To defend his position, Boselli attached a copy of that deal from the British Fashion Council.
“The documentation related to the dates of the 2012 Milan women’s fashion week has been examined by our executive council and designers. We demonstrated that we never signed any agreements with the Council of Fashion Designers of America and with the British Fashion Council for the years 2012, 2013 and 2014 and, in any case, the topic of postponing the September 2012 dates was never discussed,” wrote Boselli. “During that occasion, we only discussed extending London fashion week from four to five days.”

He also enclosed the press release the Camera della Moda sent on March 17, 2010, announcing that Milan’s 2012 fall fashion week was scheduled for Sept. 19 to 25, as it had been the previous three years.
Boselli added that even though Milan will hold next fall’s fashions shows from Sept. 19 to 25, representatives of the four fashion weeks will still need to meet to schedule the dates for 2013.
