Singapore Fashion Week has acquired Digital Fashion Week, a four-year-old designer showcase that places a heavy emphasis on promoting talents via social media and online platforms.
Singapore Fashion Week organizers said the union with Digital Fashion Week “marks a monumental shift toward a larger digital presence for SFW.” Digital Fashion Week has supported more than 50 local designers through fashion events and runway shows in Singapore and Bangkok, Singapore Fashion Week said.
“DFW’s online portal, digitalfashionweek.com, will amplify the local and international reach of SFW content, and be the go-to destination for live-streaming of SFW runway shows, fashion news reporting and extensive galleries of runway images,” the event organizer said.
The next edition of Singapore Fashion Week will take place Oct. 26 to 30 at its new official venue, the National Gallery of Singapore. The event joins an already crowded calendar of events for October. Shanghai Fashion Week runs Oct. 12 to 20, while both Tokyo and Seoul Fashion Weeks are slated to run Oct. 17 to 22. China Fashion Week in Beijing runs Oct. 25 to 31.
