UNLOCKED: Sophia Webster is taking matters back into her own hands.
The London-based shoe designer today will open SW Vault — an online discount site through which she will sell excess archival product.
The web site will stock shoes priced from $99 to $920. It will instigate a “must buy” attitude by making product only available for short periods of time.
With today’s launch, styles will only be shoppable for 72 hours.
“I’m so excited to open the SW Vault, and offer my customers another opportunity to buy styles from previous seasons,” Webster said in a statement. “I have personally gone through past collections and chosen some of my favorite shoes to be featured on the web site, and I hope that both those who have been with the brand since the beginning as well as new customers will enjoy the journey through our archives.”
Accessing the SW Vault will pose somewhat of a challenge. Those eager to shop the site will need to infer a four-digit code from various music “clues” released on Sophia Webster’s social media accounts throughout the week.
Webster founded her brand in 2012, after training under Nicholas Kirkwood. The label is known for its zany shapes, patterns, silhouettes and color combinations.
Current stockists include Saks Fifth Avenue and Net-a-porter.
