CARRYING IT OFF: S.T. Dupont, the maker of luxury pens and lighters, celebrated its return to the leather goods arena with a cocktail Thursday that drew the likes of Mélanie Laurent, Vincent Perez and Aïssa Maïga to its refurbished store on Avenue Montaigne. Industry veteran Mounir Moufarrige, who thought up the new line, co-hosted the bash with S.T. Dupont chief executive officer Alain Crevet and guest of honor Sean Hepburn Ferrer, who manages his mother Audrey Hepburn’s image and estate. The actress carried a Dupont Riviera bag back in 1953, and her likeness will feature in point-of-sale displays and advertising for the new handbag line, whose launch coincides with the 50th anniversary of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” “Maybe we should have done it with a bigger company that can buy another 2O pages in Elle and Vogue magazine,” Ferrer said. “But at the same time, can they have that type of care and control over the quality and the attention that is necessary, which is very much the way we manage the estate and her image and likeness? So I think it’s actually a perfect situation.”
