BORROWED FROM THE BOYS: Twenty percent of Stampd’s customers are women who buy pieces for themselves from the collection, which primarily consists of men’s wear.
That number, coupled with a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund nomination, compelled the brand’s founder, Chris Stamp, to put on a presentation during New York Fashion Week Tuesday, which featured female models wearing Stampd’s spring 2017 collection.
“It’s kind of the consumer who dictated this,” said Stamp, who expects that at some point his men’s and women’s customer bases will be equal. “I look at my customer as unisex, but there is a certain level of sexiness that women have when they dress up casual clothes, so I’ve sized down a few pieces to accommodate them.”
The models wore stilettos along with bomber jackets, button-ups, knits and cargo pants.
Stamp, who opened his first store in Los Angeles earlier this year, also produces women’s for his Puma collaboration that’s released twice a year.
