Patrizia Reggiani Opts to Stay in Italian Prison

STAYING PUT: Halfway through her 26-year prison sentence for arranging for ex-husband Maurizio Gucci’s murder, Patrizia Reggiani shows no interest in the “semi-freedom” she is eligible for by Italian law. This would require holding down a part-time job, to which Reggiani says: “No, thank you. I’ve never worked in my life.” Reggiani’s words were widely — and snidely — reported in the Italian press, with numerous references to the “black widow’s” fondness for her main hobbies: buying expensive clothes and cuddling her pet ferret, Bambi, who keeps her company behind bars.
