STELLA EXPANSION: Stella McCartney’s march of expansion continues in Sweden and Denmark. McCartney will be in both countries on Friday to celebrate the recently opened shops with a lunch event in Stockholm followed by cocktails in Copenhagen in the evening. Talk about a busy day.

The Copenhagen store, at Ny Ostergarde 7, which opened its doors in December, is set over 1,700 square feet, while the new Swedish shop, at Mäster Samuelsgatan 3, opened last month and covers 1,900 square feet.

The designer will then head to Japan in May to celebrate the opening of the Tokyo store, which opened its doors in Roppongi Hills to customers last week.

This strategy of retail expansion has Asia as its focus. Stores were opened in Bangkok and Singapore in 2012, and further store openings are expected in China this year, including a second Shanghai location.
