Swarovski Announces Designers in Collective

Eleven designers presenting in the upcoming spring collections have been selected, including four new to this season.

CRYSTAL VISIONS: Since 1999, when Nadja Swarovski collaborated with a young Alexander McQueen and Isabella Blow, Swarovski has supported emerging and established designers through its Swarovski Collective. Eleven designers presenting in New York, London and Paris for the upcoming spring collections have been selected to use Swarovski Elements as a creative material in their collections, including four new to this season: Wes Gordon, Huishan Zhang, Maarten van der Horst and Anthony Vaccarello.

“It provides me with great support and… [enables me] to enhance my collection with crystal. I want to use crystal as a fabric and not as embroideries in order to have fluidity and create unique feminine and graphics looks,” Vaccarrello told WWD.

Other participants returning to the program this year include Altuzarra’s Joseph Altuzarra, Rodarte’s Laura and Kate Mulleavy, Creatures of the Wind’s Shane Gabier and Chris Peters, Juan Carlos Obando, Giles’ Giles Deacon, Marios Schwab and Mary Katrantzou.
