T OFF IN MILAN: “A holiday? What’s that? What’s Sunday? What’s nighttime?” said Umberto Angeloni — who is clearly burning the candle at multiple ends — during a cocktail party hosted by T Magazine at Palazzo Clerici, with its 18th-century interiors, glittering gold gilding, frescoes and tapestries. It’s no wonder that Angeloni is working practically 24/7 on his tailoring business, Caruso. He’s recently brought in new Chinese investors and is headed to Shanghai later this month. “We do one week in Milan, and one week traveling for work,” he said.
Guests included Frida Giannini, Diego Della Valle, Ennio Capasa, Anna Zegna, Rosita Missoni, Frédéric de Narp and Brian Atwood. Luca Missoni, who attended with his mother Rosita, did indeed have a Christmas and New Year’s holiday, in Honduras — and it only just ended. “We were there until the 6th, hanging out with friends, playing bocce in the sand,” said the New York-based Missoni. “And we did cook — there is so much seafood and lobster there — and us being Mediterranean, that is good to have.”

Giannini was not as blissed-out as her fellow Italian. Staging the Gucci show earlier in the day was not her only challenge of the week. “I couldn’t really relax after the show. My baby has been sick and I was with her all afternoon. She has a fever — she was up all last night, and I didn’t sleep,” she lamented.
