TEBOW TIME OUT: Nike Inc. scored an early victory over Reebok International Ltd. in its legal battle over Tim Tebow merchandise, which began with a suit filed Tuesday. A Manhattan federal judge issued a temporary restraining order preventing Reebok from making or selling any unauthorized apparel bearing the name of the newly minted New York Jets player. Reebok also has to offer to repurchase all unauthorized Tebow product from resellers and vendors. Reebok still has the right to sell Tebow merchandise related to the quarterback’s former team, the Denver Broncos.

Reebok’s license to use the NFL mark expires Saturday and Nike will pick up the business afterwards. Nike said in its complaint that until then Reebok may create new products featuring NFL marks, but not new products featuring an individual player without its consent.
