TEMPER, TEMPER: After three weeks chock full of women’s fashion events in Los Angeles — one event organizer estimated there were as many as 37, an awards-season-worthy amount — the guys finally got their due Thursday night at a cocktail reception to fete the opening of Ermenegildo Zegna’s store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and an after party at the JF Chen Gallery in L.A., where the brand introduced its new ad campaign lensed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Jeremy Renner, Edward Norton, Gerard Butler, Joe Jonas, Jim Parsons, Ed Weeks and Joe Manganiello were among those suited up for the occasion.
Gildo Zegna, Ermenegildo Zegna’s ceo, was happy his brand is in good company on Rodeo Drive. “I remember there were years in which it kind of lost the appeal it used to have. I think the appeal is back. It is hard to find a road like this in America, with such a concentration of luxury brands, energy and traffic,” he said.

The event also served as an introduction to Zegna creative director Stefano Pilati, who Gildo Zegna praised for his work so far with the brand. Zegna said, “We don’t always agree. He’s very volcanic, very creative. We talk, we reflect and we decide what we have to push and what we have to wait on. I think it’s a very good relationship, and it’s growing.”
