Before the Luca Luca show Friday, Nicky Hilton said she is focusing on Asia distribution for her signature sportswear. Participating in the Tokyo Girls Club fashion event was a real hit, especially since “some 25,000” consumers in the crowd text or e-mail orders as the runway looks float by.
Her seatmate, Tinsley Mortimer, was more buttoned-up about her plans for a new TV show, declining to provide any specifics about the venture. She was willing to talk about the public’s preoccupation with the breakup of her marriage. The girl-about-town said she did not want to be part of New York magazine opus about the split but decided “with that type of story, it was better to be part of it than not. That way I could at least tell my side.”
The takeaway? “We both care for each other very deeply. We still love each other. It just didn’t work out,” Mortimer said.
Estelle, meanwhile, made her first fashion week appearance at Luca Luca, and was brimming with excitement from Fashion’s Night Out, when she performed at Rachel Roy on Spring Street. “That was quite a scene,” she said.
