SHOW TIME: Tinie Tempah is said to be hosting a fashion show during London Fashion Week Men’s in January, for his fashion label, Disturbing London.
According to the Evening Standard, the rapper hinted at the upcoming show, saying that he wants to put on a spectacle similar to the scale of Victoria’s Secret’s shows.
“I don’t want to say too much but in January there is something special that will be happening in regards to myself and clothing,” said Tempah. “I just want to take some of the influence of things I’ve seen not only in Italy but when I’ve gone to Victoria’s Secret shows, just incorporating everything into one exciting show. It will happen in the second week of January. So look out for it — it will be very fun.”
Tempah has been an ambassador for London Fashion Week Men’s, attending all the major shows during the four-week event, but this is the first time he will be hosting a show himself.
London Fashion Week Men’s will be taking place between Jan. 6-9.
He has also announced a collaboration between Disturbing London and Vype, a London-based company which specializes in e-cigarettes and other vaping products. The rapper worked with Vype to design a limited-edition range of T-shirts and to customize a series of Vype products with artwork by the Disturbing London team.
All the collaboration products will be showcased in a series of pop-up shops in London, Manchester and Glasgow. The first pop-up, which will launch on Nov. 30 at Rook and Raven gallery in London’s Fitzrovia, will include art installations to create an immersive in-store experience.
Disturbing London, which includes both a record label and an urban fashion brand, is also marking its 10th anniversary this year.
