Angel Haze Rocks the Philipp Plein Show

The rapper performed against a western backdrop with cowboys and live horses.

WILD WEST: Once upon a time in the West, cowboys swaggered around in heavy biker jackets with mink trim and combat boots — at least, that was the vision Philipp Plein presented at his theatrical Milan show, complete with a wooden saloon backdrop, a mechanical rodeo bull, live horses and a simulated shootout.

Models emerged with a villainous stride, some bare-chested and carrying saddles, others in Tex-Mex inspired sweaters or floor-length dark coats. By the time rapper Angel Haze appeared in the sandpit, microphone in hand, it was clear this was no ordinary O.K. Corral.

“I’ve been to shows in America, and they’re never production-wise anything like this,” Haze commented after her performance, adding she intended to spend Monday in Rome exploring ancient ruins.
