Tucker Blair Collaborates With Opening Ceremony

The collection will be in stores July 15 and features five belts with decidedly edgier motifs.

PREP COOL: Taylor Llewellyn, owner of Tucker Blair, is the first to admit that there is a limited market for the line’s shamelessly preppy, and not in an ironic way, belts needlepointed with crabs, sailboats, lobsters, etc. So in an attempt to increase brand awareness, Tucker Blair is breaking out of its comfort zone via a collaboration with Opening Ceremony. “I’ve known about Opening Ceremony for a number of years,” said Llewellyn, whose business is based in Washington, D.C. “But I’m pretty preppy, so it’s not a place I’ve shopped a lot.” Tucker Blair for Opening Ceremony will be in stores July 15 and features five belts ($110) done in the signature Tucker Blair construction but with decidedly edgier motifs: leopard print, a white rabbit and a Guatemalan pattern, for example.
