UPPING THE ORDER: Just two days after Cornelia Guest’s debut vegan handbag collection hit floors in three Bloomingdale’s locations in September, the store placed a reorder. Fast forward two months: Guest’s spring collection was picked up by four additional Bloomingdale’s locations — Short Hills in New Jersey, Roosevelt Field on Long Island, Tysons Corner in Virginia and North Michigan Avenue in Chicago — and it’s now available on bloomingdales.com. In fact, Bloomingdale’s is so behind the line that the socialite-turned-designer will appear at in-store events at each location in the next year, as well as one Nov. 9 and two more next month in Century City, Calif.; New York’s 59th Street flagship, and Palm Beach, Fla. (the three doors where the line is currently available).
For spring, Guest has expanded on her first 12-piece collection with 10 new styles such as the $220 Remi, a bowler shape with zippers running down both sides — all done in a color palette of pale dusty rose, butter, sailor blue, camel, white and a cherry red. She’s also introducing new materials such as raffia in natural and black, as well as gold pyramid studs.
