HAUTE TICKET: The Victoria & Albert Museum has has extended the “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” exhibition in London for a further two weeks and issued an additional 50,000 tickets to meet the demand.
The show will now run from March 14 to Aug. 2. First staged in New York, it is the V&A’s largest-ever fashion exhibition and will run in all three of the museum’s main exhibition galleries. The V&A has added early morning and evening viewing times to accommodate the visitor traffic.
The museum said the show has sparked international interest with bookings coming from 57 countries, including Australia, New Zealand and Brazil, with the highest number of sales to U.S. visitors. Some 30,000 advance tickets have already been sold.
“With just two months to go, we are seeing an unprecedented demand for ‘Savage Beauty,’ but we also wanted to reassure people that there are still tickets available,” stated Martin Roth, director of the V&A. “We are committed to providing access to as many as possible during its 20-week run, and so pleased to now offer many more opportunities to see this magnificent show in London.”
