VERDURA’S VAULT: Verdura is celebrating its 75th anniversary on New York’s Fifth Avenue. In October, the fine jewelry house will host a retrospective exhibition, titled “The Power of Style: Verdura at 75,” featuring more than 150 jewels created by Duke Fulco di Verdura.
Plans for the exhibition were made public at a press conference on Monday, held in an open space next to the Verdura boutique at 745 Fifth Avenue. The space will be transformed into a fully functional gallery in time for the exhibit’s fall opening.

To help curate the exhibit, Verdura chief executive officer Ward Landrigan enlisted the help of Carolina and Reinaldo Herrera, alongside their daughter Patricia Lansing. The Herreras will work alongside Landrigan to narrow down the selection of jewels, objets d’art, photographs, documents and paintings that are shown in the retrospective.
Among those confirmed: Coco Chanel’s signature Maltese Cross cuffs; a gold, platinum and diamond tiara designed for Betsey Whitney, and a gold, morganite and ruby brooch which frames a miniature Salvador Dalí painting. The retrospective will open to the public on Oct. 14 and run through Dec. 23.
