Vestiaire Collective Site Marks One Year in the U.K.

The French designer resale Web site threw itself a first birthday party at Café Royal in London.

A YEAR OLD: After a year in the U.K., French designer resale Web site Vestiaire Collective threw itself a first birthday party at Café Royal in London. “It’s been such a great year for us, and the team has really grown, so we wanted to mark it,” said U.K. country manager Sarah Bush. “We’re really working hard to localize the site, and we have over 100,000 members now. Being a French business in the U.K. has presented certain challenges but sales and communities are growing.”

Bay Garnett signed on last year as the company’s style adviser and told WWD that her proudest moment was “getting all the great people involved in the ‘Dress for Success’ charity sale at Christmas. Rachel Weisz, Sophie Dahl, Thandie Newton and Jade Parfitt all joined in with Vestiaire to raise money for this great charity.”

She’s nabbed a few bargains on the site, too, including a Louis Vuitton bag and a ponyskin iPad case with a snakeskin print.
